Course Description

The training course covers the basics of administrating and configuring a NYSE Technologies Appia FIX engine environment.  It provides practical examples of application integration, common administrative tasks, and gives further detail of operation concerns. 

Optional modules can provide detailed Appia API development concepts and requirements relative to client integration preferences.

By the end of the course, candidates will have a practical understanding of Appia administration concepts, having developed practical skills required in managing a production environment.

Upon completion of the course participants should have a solid understanding of the following:

  • Appia design concepts & configuration
  • Core Appia processing (validation, persistence, logging)
  • Middleware interface implementation*
  • Extensibility Framework development and operation*
  • FIX connectivity configuration
  • Trading Sessions, Scripting start/stop/EOD functionality (i.e. how best to detect if EOD has not run so can be run prior to automated start up)
  • Introduction to Tools – Tradescope and Simulator

*General overviews are provided as standadd. More detailed training can be provided in this area for development specialists.

Prerequisites

This course is technical in nature and assumes that delegates have some background knowledge of trading processes, IT, and application support processes. 

It is recommended that delegates have programming or middleware messaging backgrounds with regards to detailed Appia middleware/API integration module options.
